Your right all entities in the domain are not alone they interact. Those interactions are specified by often simple rules of "the game".

"By disconnecting science from the broader, system wide realities of nature, human experience, and emotion, we rob it of its moral power."

The simple rule that governs human relationships is acquisition of things. It has always been. Some is based on survival but often its about position or power; ego. Again it has always been this way.

The game players have put a fix in to keep themselves in power. The problem is most other players, don't take the time to understand what is in play.

Science has rules. Peer review. The problem is the common people though told in grade school react without understanding the peer review process. And often because they are not "smart" enough, they take it as fact based on the con-man in power.

Fix the game....
