How does Social Media need to Reform

Here is my idea for reforming social media:

Facebook has a problem. Yes. It’s not a media company. It’s a media funnel. A portal like your phone. The problem is the question of responsibility for truth. Part of that is how far does the lie extend out. So its not that everything needs to be true. But it is everything that is broadly circulated does need to be true to some degree.

So yes, Facebook and all media funnels should be reformed so that they identify things that are being highly circulated and the media funnel companies can send those items to validators/regulators across a wide range of knowledge fields. Similar but at a larger scale to Wikipedia.

Anything rejected would be rejected to all media funnels. There by removing the concept that single company has unique control over truth.

Also opinion could be identified and marked. So opinion doesn’t masquerade as fact.

Those validators could be paid through licenses that would be acquired to reach specific circulation levels.

It’s software it can be changed.

It’s the evolution of the industry and free speech.
